I did not know Mike back at LHS, but he and Mary joined our reunion planning group during this past few years and my husband Don and I enjoyed visiting about our 5th wheels and other stories. Anyone who liked the pecan rolls at our 50th reunion can thank Mike. At our last 50th planning meeting I had not yet started to bake the cinnamon rolls for the Lincoln High Saturday morning school tour. [My original plan had been to be baking ahead of time and freezing them!!] We were in our big planning meeting circle at Carlene's when the the topic came up again and Mike immediately piped up "PECANS?!!!" I had not baked rolls recently and had totally spaced off making part of them with pecans. Therefore, it was off to Sam's for a big bag of pecans for part of the rolls! It seems difficult after being together for our planning meetings and the reunion to accept that "just like that" he is gone. I was in disbelef when I saw his obituary in yesterday morning's paper. As Pat Canfield Guse commented to me, this 70-year-old 'extra' reunion is becoming more important for us every day!
