Gary Allen Bornemeier

Gary A. Bornemeier, 66, of Lincoln, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 as a result of a motor vehicle accident.  Also killed was his brother Richard.  Gary was born on December 22, 1944 in Nebraska City to Carl and Iva (Bird) Bornemeier.  He graduated from Lincoln High in 1963.  On September 4, 1964 he married the love of his life Pamela Downs.  He worked for Gooch mills (ADM) for 36 years.  Gary loved to fish and be in the outdoors.  You could always catch him out at brother Dick's house talking about life or out at the lake catching the next big one.  He loved to spend time with family on Husker Saturdays watching the game.  His smile and laugh will be greatly missed.

Gary is survived by his wife of 45 years, Pamela; daughter and son-in-law, Shaun and Mark Kometscher; Nicki and Ricardo Noyola, Jessica and Ajay Watkins; grandson, Mark Kometscher Jr.; eight great grandchildren; brother Pete Bornemeier; brother-in-law, Gary Miller; sister-in-law, Trudy Monson; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, BeeJay and Clair Munyon; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rose Rotherham, all of Lincoln; brother-in-law, Jack Downs of Oklahoma City; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends.  Proceeded in death by his parents Carl and Iva Bornemeier; sister, Donna Miller; brothers, Hank and Richard Bornemeier; and niece, Gail Miller.

Found this in the Lincoln Star archives.  He died in an auto accident near Raymond, Ne.  Sad to see a classmate depart.  Thought his fellow classmates would like to know a little about him. May his soul rest in Peace.  -----
